Network & Enterprise Systems
Network access control systems utilize a server base or host computer configuration to monitor and contol equipment and miscellaneous devices. Network systems provide real-time situation-dependant access control and can integrate with alarm monitoring, photo ID badging, elevator control, Human Resoures Databases and more into one centralized system.
The software is a major component of the network system and can perform simple database management and editing to complex hardware programing and information exchange between multiple subsystems. Most network access control systems utilize distributed processing which allows the system to remain functional in the event communication with the host computer is interrupted. Larger or enterprise access control systems usually consist of at least several workstations, located in multiple areas or facilites, permitting the distribution of various tasks between security personnel and company management through a network.
